Emilia Gonzalez is a MSc student in the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Mónica Ruiz-Casares. Her research explores how community-based support contributes to the wellbeing and resettlement experiences of young immigrants and refugees in Montreal. Her work focuses on youth resilience and participation through a Children's Rights framework. Emilia has worked and volunteered with several non-for-profits serving immigrant and refugee youth in the city. As a migrant herself, she loves connecting with young newcomers, listening to their stories and developing collaborative projects that have the potential to transform our society as well as the individuals involved.
