Roda Siad is a PhD student in Communication Studies at McGill University. Her research interests are in the intersections between technology, forced migration and humanitarianism. Her doctoral study examines the implications of emerging technologies on refugee rights. She is particularly interested in the principles of data justice and how this framework would apply to the refugee context. Her research is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Before joining the PhD program, Roda worked for over five years in the non-profit, settlement and integration sector as an outreach worker and community programs coordinator. She has a BA in History and English Literature and an MA in Media Production.
